You need to allow half a day, at least, anyway. There's a market square - a kind of developing medieval village - with other properties dotted at intervals.

The Weald & Downland Open Air Museum near Singleton was launched in 1967 by a small group of enthusiasts, and opened to the public on 5 September 1970.. It covers a 40-acre site and has fifty exhibit buildings. There is a café, and there are walks in the woods to the south of the site. It is almost centered between Interstate Freeway 15 on the east, and State Highway 71 on the west. General admission is $11.00 for adults and children 11 and older. It's open Sunday through Friday.

The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum was launched in 1967 by a group of enthusiasts led by the museum's founder, the late Dr. J.R. Armstrong MBE. The land for the museum was gifted by a local landowner, Edward James of West Dean at a peppercorn rent. The objective was to rescue vernacular buildings that would otherwise have been demolished.
